How it works

  1. Choose a type: URL, text, email, phone, SMS, Wi-Fi, vCard, geo, or event. Fill in the fields.
  2. Set size, error correction (L/M/Q/H), colors, margin, and an optional center logo.
  3. Download PNG, SVG, or a US Letter PDF, or copy the image. The code is static β€” no tracking, no expiry on the file.

Features

  • Created in your browser. Free, no expiry, no signup
  • Wi-Fi QR (SSID, password, encryption) and vCard contact
  • Error correction and optional logo
  • PNG, SVG, PDF, and copy-image
  • No short links and no scan analytics

Static QR codes

A static QR code encodes the content itself. If you encode https://yourshop.example/menu, a camera opens that URL. If you change the website later, the same QR still points at the old address unless that URL still works. Dynamic QR products wrap your link in a redirect so they can count scans. This page does not do that. There is nothing to expire because we are not hosting the destination.

That is the right choice for a printed invoice footer, a shop window, or a Wi-Fi card on the fridge. It is the wrong choice if you need to change the destination after you print 5,000 flyers.

Who can use this

Restaurants posting a menu URL, landlords sharing Wi-Fi, contractors putting a vCard on a truck, and freelancers adding a pay-me link to a PDF invoice can generate a code here. For product SKUs and UPC-style retail bars, use the barcode generator.

US tips

Use a high-contrast pair (near-black on white). If you add a logo, raise error correction to Q or H so scanners can still read the damaged modules. Test with an iPhone and an Android camera before you print. A Wi-Fi QR should use the real SSID and encryption (usually WPA). Do not publish a guest password on a public page if the network is not meant to be public.

We do not store the text you encode. This tool generates codes for convenience and is not legal advice.

What to encode (and what not to)

Prefer HTTPS links. A QR to a bare IP or a tracking redirect you do not control can surprise people. vCard codes should include a name and at least one way to reach you; an empty vCard still draws a symbol that does nothing useful. Event codes are a convenience for a calendar prompt, not a ticket. Geo codes open a map app at the coordinates you type β€” double-check latitude and longitude before you print a yard sign.

Wi-Fi codes are handy in a short-term rental or a shop back room. They also print the password in a scannable form, so treat the paper like the password. If you rotate the guest network monthly, a static QR means reprinting. That is the tradeoff for having no account and no expiry server.

You can put a QR on an estimate, invoice, or receipt you create on this site: a link to pay, a link to your portfolio, or a vCard. Keep the printed size large enough for a phone at arm’s length, and do not stretch a PNG. SVG or a fresh PNG at the size you need stays sharp. Test the download on paper, not only on screen.

Error correction level L keeps the code simpler. Level H survives a logo or a crease. If a phone will not scan, raise contrast, enlarge the print, and try H before you change the content. Colored codes can work if the dark modules stay dark. Light-gray on white will fail at a shop counter even if it looks fine on a monitor.

Frequently asked questions

Is this QR code generator free?

Yes. Create a static QR code and download PNG, SVG, or a Letter PDF. No signup, no expiry, and no watermark.

Do you track scans or use a short link?

No. Codes are static. The QR encodes your content directly. There is no redirect and no scan count.

Which QR types can I make?

URL, plain text, email, phone, SMS, Wi-Fi (SSID, password, encryption), vCard contact, geo location, and event.

Can I add a logo in the center?

Yes. Upload a PNG or JPG logo. Use a higher error-correction level (Q or H) so scanners can still read the code.

What is error correction?

Error correction lets a damaged or logo-covered QR still scan. L is lowest, H is highest. Higher levels make a denser code.

Will the QR code expire?

The file you download does not expire. If you encoded a URL, the QR works as long as that URL still works.

Can I change colors and shape?

Yes. Set size, margin, foreground and background colors, and dot or corner style. Keep contrast high so phones can scan it.
